Above all else, at Animal and Environment Association - Bethlehem, Palestine our focus is on saving and improving the lives of animals.
This commitment can be found in everything we do -
from advocacy and education to rescue and rehabilitation efforts.
Animal and Environment Association (AEA) in Bethlehem Palestine is the only animal shelter situated in the West Bank. Founded by Diana Babish in 2016, the organisation provides a safe environment for thousands of dogs and cats and works with the local authorities to prevent the poisoning and shooting of dogs as a brutal form of animal control. AEA-Bethlehem is the only shelter that provides treatment to injured dogs, cats and other animals, and arranges formal animal fostering and adoptions. They also provide spay and neutering services to the animals in their care, and to those who will be adopted. AEA-Bethlehem is also working to change policies that allow the abuse and the poisoning of dogs without penalty and for vets that witness these atrocities to be held accountable. AEA-Bethlehem receives no government funding, relying completely on urgently needed donations. They also encourage local people to volunteer at the shelter and visit schools to educate children about animal welfare and the environment.

We are very happy, that we were able to provide more than a thousand homes for street cats and dogs all over the world

We have in the shelter over a hundred cats and dogs, all available for local and international adoption, as well as for fostering.
