Animal and Environment Association Elects a New Board of Directors and Reaffirms Its Continued Mission to Protect Animals in Palestine

The Animal and Environment Association in Bethlehem held a meeting of its General Assembly and Board of Directors, during which members reviewed the Association’s work, discussed the key challenges facing animal protection and welfare in Palestine, and considered future plans and programs aimed at developing the Association’s work and expanding the scope of its services.

The meeting also included the election of a new Board of Directors, which will lead the Association during the next phase and ensure the continuation of its humanitarian and environmental mission.

The new Board of Directors consists of:

Secretary: Ms. Samia Shaheen

Treasurer: Ms. Amira Shomali

Board Member: Mr. Zuhair Qassis

Board Member: Ms. Mervat Jaqman

Board Member: Ms. In'am Abdo

Board Member: Mr. Amir Abu Jreis

Board Member: Ms. Amani Abu Awad

The General Assembly and the Board of Directors emphasized that the Animal and Environment Association represents a unique experience in the history of Palestine, as the only association specialized in rescuing and caring for animals and giving them new opportunities for life. Throughout its journey, the Association has rescued large numbers of dogs, cats, and other animals, providing them with medical treatment, shelter, and adoption opportunities. It has also successfully arranged for many of them to travel to safe families outside Palestine in cooperation with international and foreign institutions and organizations. Today, the Association continues its mission to protect animals, expand its partnerships, and give every animal a genuine opportunity for treatment, safety, and a dignified life.

The newly elected Board of Directors reaffirmed its commitment to continuing this mission, developing the Association’s programs, strengthening its presence locally and internationally, and building new partnerships with institutions, volunteers, and supporters. These efforts aim to provide greater protection for animals and promote a culture of compassion and responsibility toward them.

The Association is now entering a new phase of its work, with a vision focused on developing its services, expanding its rescue and emergency response capacity, defending animals’ right to care and protection, and establishing animal welfare as an essential part of humanitarian and social responsibility in Palestine.
