A Poisoning campaign

(TW: distressing image, animal cruelty) Poison has been spread to control a locale's stray dog & cat population. This cruel act is causing immense suffering and death to innocent creatures already struggling with hunger and neglect. Unfortunately, many local residents want to be rid of them.

The poison is being placed in kofta meat and left on the street. This method is allegedly a deliberate attempt to avoid detection, as they have reportedly used poisoned chicken heads in the past.

We have received numerous reports about the loss of family dogs and cats, in addition to the many stray animals who have died.

The mother dog and her puppies in the video were cared for by a kind individual. They have since been wiped out, leaving one terrified puppy orphaned. We are working to find and rescue this survivor.

Please share this post widely to demand an end to this cruelty!

💔 This sweet little guy was found all alone last night. He's a brave three-legged pup 🐾 with a cataract 🥺 and needs a safe, quiet foster home ASAP! 🏡 Shelter life with lots of other dogs is just too risky for him right now. 😔 Can you open your heart and home to this vulnerable soul? ❤️ Please call +972 50-866-6582 .

UPDATE- Remember this little 3-legged-fighter? Our little rescue, now named Hero, has found a loving foster home! ❤️ A huge thank you to our friend Judith for the ride and to Diana for giving him a comfy stay, complete with a bath, yummy chicken and rice, and lots of love. This tiny 3-month-old female puppy was found sleeping under a car for days, clearly distressed. She's underweight, not eating, and has been diagnosed with three fractures after being examined at a veterinary clinic.

We urgently need to find a rescue organization who can provide her with the medical attention and ongoing care she desperately needs. She's currently safe in a shelter while we continue our search. If you have any contacts or can offer assistance, please reach out.

Amani Abu Awad from Beit Jala spotted this sick and struggling female dog with a large mass. After disappearing for two days, Amani and Catherine Zeit found her again, and we were able to get her to vet Mohammed Raji. She's had surgery to remove the mass and is now receiving treatment. Let's send her positive vibes for a speedy recovery!

Thank you to Amani Abu Awad, Amani and Catherine Zeit and Dr. Mohammed Raji for their massive efforts in helping this poor girl!

Two dogs in Nablus were suffering badly from advanced severe mange. Animal lovers Ameed Fahmawi and his wife tried to help as their condition worsened, but couldn't find assistance.

Thankfully, the community stepped in, tagging Diana in a local Facebook group. She quickly arranged for the female to go to an association and the male to @RoyalCareClinic. Both are now receiving treatment, with the male heading to a clinic in Jenin soon.

Huge thanks to everyone who helped make this rescue happen! Your compassion is amazing. ❤️

UPDATE- Ameed Fahmawi's 2 male dogs with mange- 20 May update

Wonderful update on the male white dog with mange from Nablus! You might remember his female companion who was sponsored and went to foster care two weeks ago. This sweet boy received three days of treatment at Royal Clinic in Nablus before moving to Jenin Clinic for further care. Yesterday, he was also sponsored by the same fantastic association and has now arrived at their clinic to begin his journey to healthy skin!

Huge thanks to Ameed Fahmawi for his care of both dogs, Royal Clinic for their initial help, Mohammed Abu Lroub for his ongoing treatment, and the incredible sponsoring association for giving this boy a second chance! 🙏

A dog in urgent need was found suffering by Huzefa and Samah Shouabi near their home in Nablus. After a call to Diana, they rushed him to @RoyalCare in Nablus.

He was in terrible condition – skinny, tired, dehydrated, full of ticks, and feverish. Diagnosed with tick fever and blood parasites, he's now receiving crucial treatment and care. He's still weak, but the vets are doing everything they can.

Thank you to Huzefa and Samah for their quick thinking and @RoyalCareVet! ❤️

This female cat was found after being hit by a car and left suffering on the streets for days. A kind senior student alerted Diana, and we immediately got her to Al Buraq for an x-ray. The diagnosis: a fractured pelvis and internal bleeding.

After initial treatment at Al Buraq and care from Dr. Mohammed Raji (who was relieved to see her eating, peeing, and pooping on her own!), she was back with us. But today, she took a turn for the worse – she couldn't eat or urinate. An ultrasound by Dr. Ahmad Abu Dayyeh revealed she needs immediate help to empty her bladder and requires a specialist.

Meet Orion! ✨ This handsome boy was found dirty and unwell, but after some care and a visit to the vet, he's now thriving! Orion has been treated, vaccinated, and neutered, and he's eating like a champ. He is between 18 months and 3 years old.  Orion needs a foster or forever home. Please call +972 50-866-6582.

Meet Tito! 👋 This handsome boy was found all alone on a residential street. Tito has been vaccinated, dewormed, and neutered. Our vet estimates he's between 1.5 and 3 years old. Tito needs a foster or forever home. Please call +972 50-866-6582.

Can you believe someone would abandon Julius? 💔 Found skinny, dirty, matted, and understandably scared, this cat has been through so much. But look at him now! After a pampering spa day for a shave and bath, and essential vet care (treatment, vaccinations, desexing), he's a whole new cat! He is between 18 months and 3 years old.  He needs a foster or forever home where he'll be cherished and safe. Please call +972 50-866-6582.

This is the reality for so many animals in Beit Jala right now. A concerned resident found this weak, sick puppy covered in ticks and suffering from a painful rash and skin problems. Thanks to their quick action and the care of Vet Mohammed Raji, she's now receiving treatment. She was diagnosed with the deadly tick fever, very early in the year. This puppy is getting treatment and with time we hope she will be better. Thank you Dr. Raji and the concerned restaurant for helping to rescue this poor little girl. Please call +972 50-866-6582.

Another victim of poisoning. This sweet male dog was found helpless in Doha, Bethlehem by our worker, Sulaiman, and a concerned delivery driver. We immediately sought veterinary care at Al Buraq Clinic, where a slight fracture was found. But the true horror was revealed when his worsening condition led to the diagnosis of poisoning. Despite the vet's tireless efforts, he tragically lost his fight this morning. How many more innocent animals must suffer this fate?

__________________________________________________________________________________

More victims of poisoning. We were supporting a compassionate woman who was caring for stray dogs locally. We provided her with tick medication to help these vulnerable animals. Two days later, we've learned that all of the dogs she was looking after have vanished. She believes that, like many stray dogs in the area recently, they have been poisoned. We wish that this cruel practice could end.

Ameed Fahmawi and his wife are the most amazing people. They both wife take care of many stray dogs and cats in Nablus. He is the one who reported the two dogs with mange. So, he has been taking care of this beautiful mother, who might be a mix as she has one blue eye. She gave birth to eight puppies. Ameed takes care of her and has afforded food and protection to her and her puppies. But this big family will be in danger due to poisoning, sickness, and more puppies in the future. People asked for Diana’s help as well as Ameed's. Diana arranged with Vet Mohammed Abu Lroub to afford protection and a home until they grow up to be vaccinated and rehomed by families. Other animal lovers, who also wanted to help, collected money to pay for the taxi to drive them from Nablus to the Jenin clinic. Our friend from Nablus, Asma Asmar, collected the donations.

Thank you to Ameed Fahmawi and his wife, Vet Mohammed Abu Lroub, Asma Asmar and the people who donated toward transport to the Jenin clinic for their massive efforts to save this young family.

This precious 2-month-old female puppy was the victim of a hit-and-run, left bleeding under a truck. Thanks to the quick action of a caring woman, our worker, Sulaiman, and a dedicated driver, she received initial critical care from Dr. Abu Sarhan for severe fever (40.2), pain, and bleeding. After her fever spiked at home, further intervention helped stabilize her.

X-rays at Al Buraq revealed internal bleeding, a broken jaw, and broken teeth. Her jaw has been wired, but she remains weak and in pain. This little fighter deserves a chance to heal. We are seeking an association to sponsor her ongoing medical expenses.t

Thank you to everyone who helped rescue this little pup.

(Content Warning: GRAPHIC IMAGERY) A young man from Hebron, noticed a terrible smell near his home and found a dog hiding in his garage. What he found was horrifying: a thick chain deeply embedded in the dog's neck, a festering wound crawling with maggots. Tragically, the initial veterinary advice was to euthanize or simply release him to die. The young man chose the latter option.

Alerted by compassionate Facebook users who tagged Diana, she messaged the man. Despite the initial setback of the dog being released, Diana's compelled him to search again until finally finding the poor dog in a nearby cave.

Thanks to the swift action of Diana, our worker Sulaiman, and a taxi, the dog was brought to Al Buraq clinic. He then moved to the care of Vet Mohammed Rajii. Now, thanks to a sponsoring association, he is receiving critical treatment. However, his condition is severe: dehydration, pain, emaciation, low blood work requiring blood and plasma infusions, and shockingly, the discovery of metal bullet fragments in his chest. This poor soul is fighting for his life. We are praying for his recovery.

(CONTENT WARNING: animal neglect) 💔 In Doha Bethlehem, Sahar Ammar continues her guardianship of the local strays. (Remember last week’s post when she distributed tick treatment?) Today, she found this vulnerable tiny puppy: severely dehydrated, emaciated, and covered in fleas. We immediately sent our worker, Sulaiman to rush her to @Al Buraq for urgent care. We are seeing so many rescued puppies lately suffering from ticks, fleas, and mange. We are praying for this little fighter.

UPDATE- R.I.P Sadly, she died yesterday. We take comfort in knowing that she did not have to suffer a more painful death.

We implore motorists to be mindful of the stray dogs and cats near our roads.

Urgent help was needed for these four adorable puppies battling severe mange, alongside their tick-ridden companions. Thankfully, the incredible Biba Hazboun stepped in to care for these neglected pups in her community. When found, they were in shocking shape: skin ravaged, crawling with ticks, and desperately thin and dehydrated. We're so relieved to see them slowly but surely getting stronger! Thank you Biba and the staff at @AlBuraq for helping to rescue these poor puppies.

(Trigger warning: animal injury, neglect, and death) RIP Our hearts are heavy with the loss of two innocent lives. We were called about a female dog in Jefna, Ramallah, but instead of receiving immediate veterinary attention, she was left on the side of the road. By the time our team could reach her after a four-hour journey from Bethlehem, she was gone.

Beside her, a tiny puppy, weighing a mere 1.5 kilos, was found battling severe mange, starvation, and dehydration. We immediately brought him to Dr. Mohammed Raji for urgent care, followed by transfer to Al Buraq Veterinary Clinic. For four short days, this vulnerable little one knew warmth, food, and gentle hands. Sadly, despite showing initial improvement, he has also passed away.

While his time with us was brief, we are grateful he experienced kindness and care at the end. This tragedy highlights the cruel reality faced by so many animals. We must work harder to ensure all animals receive timely and humane treatment. Rest in peace, little one. Thank you, Dr. Raji, for your compassionate care.

This approximately 3-month-old female puppy was found near a restaurant in Beit Jala, suffering from a terrible skin condition due to ticks. The poor sweetheart was so itchy and in so much pain that she had scratched herself raw. 💔 Thankfully, the compassionate Judith rescued her and brought her to Diana, who immediately rushed her to Al Buraq Veterinary Clinic. She's now receiving much-needed treatment and has started to eat, which is a huge step forward! We're hoping for a full recovery for this brave little soul. We decided to name her Carima, in memory of our dearly departed friend, Nediva, who was dedicated to generously helping animals. Both ‘Carima’ and ‘Nedivah’ mean generous.

They have so much space to roam and explore compared to their shelter days. Tiger embraced his inner explorer before engaging in his favourite and long-missed activity, digging holes! Shy Zelda is starting to come out of her shell. Welcome home, beautiful pups! We're so grateful to Loretta for opening her heart and home.
