October Summary

Winter is coming

We are currently renovating our shelter to ensure all our animals stay safe and comfortable during the upcoming winter months.

One of our projects has been to convert a closet into a cozy, heated bed for our furry friends. We've added shelves for storage, lined the inside with thick blankets, and installed a protective cover to shield the bed from the elements.

We're also making improvements to the outside areas of the shelter, including renovating the exterior to prevent rainwater from entering. These changes will help our animals stay warm and dry throughout the winter season.

This dog was spotted in the backyard of a family in Doha. They tried to move him but feared getting too close. The dog did not move from their garden bed for a week, prompting the daughter to call Diana.

Steve immediately responded to the call and rescued the dog. Upon examination, it was discovered that the dog was severely dehydrated, had no food or water, and was suffering from painful wounds.

Unfortunately, the dog had been shot multiple times and was in critical condition.

Diana tirelessly searched for a sponsor for the injured dog, but many turned her down. Finally, a compassionate association agreed to help. Today, the dog was transferred to a specialized hospital for further treatment. Tomorrow, we'll receive the results of his blood work, X-rays, and oxygen therapy.

Thank you to Steve, Dr. Rajji and the Association for helping to rescue this poor boy!

Diana found these 6 precious puppies (4 girls, 2 boys) born near her house. Their mom started taking them near busy roads, so Diana provided them with a safe haven in an abandoned building nearby.

For the past 3 weeks, Diana has been making daily feeding runs and got them all checked and vaccinated at the vet. They're healthy, playful, and full of love!

Their momma dog trusts Diana now and visits her front door for food. Diana is hoping to get her spayed soon to prevent more unwanted litters.

Can you offer one of these cuties a loving home? If you are interested in fostering or adopting, please contact +972 50-866-6582.

Yesterday, a relative discovered a dog that had fallen from a neighbour’s high wall into their garden. Unable to help the injured animal on their own, they contacted Diana for assistance.

With the help of the civil defense, Steve safely rescued the dog. The dog was taken to Al Buraq Veterinary Clinic for immediate medical attention.

While X-rays revealed no fractures or internal bleeding, the dog's testicles were severely injured. Despite receiving necessary treatment, the dog was unable to recover and sadly passed away the following day.

__________________________________________________________________________________A Maltese mixed terrier, named Moon, was used for breeding in a puppy mill, where she was mistreated. She was malnourished and had fleas.

When she was no longer able to give birth, she was abandoned in the street. A local resident called Diana who instructed her to take her to @Royal Care Vet HOSPITAL in Nablus. There, she received treatment for fleas, grooming, vaccinations, microchipping, and spaying.

After a 20-day stay at the vet, Moon was placed in a foster home where she is thriving. We hope to find her forever home soon!

We are grateful to @royalcarevet and everybody else who helped give Moon her second chance

__________________________________________________________________________________A week ago, Diana was driving to pick up the blacksmith who is working on renovations at our shelter. She spotted a tiny, malnourished puppy near a trash container. The puppy was dehydrated, had broken legs, and was struggling to walk.

Diana immediately brought the puppy to our shelter and then took him to the vet for an examination. X-rays revealed fractures in his leg and shoulder. Unfortunately, several animal welfare associations declined to take the puppy's case.

However, we were finally able to find a sponsor in Jerusalem who agreed to treat the puppy and find him a home after he recovers.

A compassionate woman, Om Sabri, from Tulkarem has been looking after several stray cats in her neighborhood. Recently, she found a cat with severe oral injuries, including partially missing mouth and gums.

The cat was in critical condition, and the woman contacted us for help. We arranged for her to receive treatment at Vet Shalhoub in Tulkarem.

The cat is not the friendliest, making it difficult for her owner to administer the necessary medications and ointments. Diana reached out to two senior vets at An Najah University, Dr. Mohammad Abu Roub and Dr. Yazan Qabbaj who have kindly agreed to provide the cat with the care she needs until her mouth heals. Thank you to everyone who helped this poor cat!

A litter of four tiny puppies, barely two months old, were sheltering in an apartment block. A kind couple, renting an apartment on the property, took pity on them, feeding and caring for them despite the landlord's indifference.

They informed us that one pup had a broken leg. We sent our worker, Steve, with a taxi to bring her to vet al-buraq. There, the puppy received x-rays- she had a broken leg. Diana took her home gave her a warm bath and the next day she went to a hospital to get her leg operated sponsored by an Association. However, the joy of this rescue was tempered by the discovery that the puppy had contracted parvovirus for which she is being treated.

Meanwhile, the landlord called municipal workers to remove the puppies. The workers callously discarded them in a remote and dangerous area.

With the taxi driver, Steve embarked on a desperate search to find the lost puppies. After hours of searching, they were finally located, starving and frightened. The puppies were immediately taken to the vet for a health check, treated for fleas and worms, and administered their first round of vaccinations.

After a dangerous journey, the remaining 3 little ones are now safe. For this we thank the kind couple who looked out for them, Steve & the taxi driver, the Association for sponsoring the injured puppy and the staff at @alburaq.

A loving mother dog, who along with her three puppies would greet Diana every morning at her doorstep, was tragically poisoned. Diana, who had been caring for the puppies by leaving food and water, noticed their absence and went searching for them. Had she not intervened, the puppies would have been left to fend for themselves and potentially suffer the same fate as their mother.

Witnesses reported that the local municipality was distributing poisoned chicken heads on the street. Diana rushed to gather as many of these dangerous items as possible, but unfortunately, several cats had already consumed some. Despite her efforts to prevent further harm, some cats managed to escape with the poisoned meat.

In the aftermath of this tragic event, Steve had to bury the mother dog before rescuing her orphaned puppies. Thankfully, we were able to place them with a nursing mother dog that we had recently rescued.

It's been two weeks since, the 2 males and one female are thriving, but they require proper homes. Please help us by fostering or adopting.

A friendly dog was found injured on the street after being hit by a car. We took him to Al Buraq clinic, where X-rays revealed a fractured pelvis. Despite receiving pain medication and antibiotics, he still requires surgery.

Unfortunately, no animal welfare association has been willing to sponsor his case. We've been covering the costs for the past 12 days, but we urgently need your support.

Please donate to help this innocent animal receive the life-saving care he needs via https://heylink.me/bethlehem
